Announcements:

We will not be meeting again until July 14. The El Paso Club let me know this morning that they will be closed for some kitchen work next week and we are off the 7th for the holiday. I know that will make many of us bacon-deficient, but I’m hoping that everyone will be ok and ready to vote for our new board when we return on the 14th.

The new board members will serve July 14, 2026 to June 30, 2027. Meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at the El Paso Club following the regular meeting. The meetings last about one hour typically. If you would like to run, you can self-nominate. Questions can be directed to the current board of directors. Contact Steve Dufaud by email if you would like to run or have a nomination.

We are still focused on growth in 2026 and got some fantastic new category suggestions not represented. If you made one of those suggestions and know someone in that category, please reach out to them and invite them to a meeting.

Announcements:

Our guest today was brought by John Fleming of Weathercraft Roofing. Caroline Fleming did their presentation on how bread baking and roofing are similar in how each is accomplished.

Next week will be the final week for board nominations. The new board members will serve July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027. Our next opening to do your craft talk is on August 25th. If you are not signed up to speak or are new to the group, please consider doing a presentation. Members report an increase in business after their talk which is largely a result of knowing how to refer you or doing direct business with you.

Senger	Trinity Church of the Nazarene restarted.
Taylor	Dick’s Sporting Goods is starting a new project off Woodmen Road and I-25. It will be Dick’s House of Sport and will feature immersive amenities like a rock-climbing wall, batting cages and golf simulators. They are also going to have on-site service for equipment maintenance and repair.

Discussion and Action:

Membership: We have a person attending for the primary member who wishes to run for the board. The bylaws currently do not allow for this to happen. After discussion the board nominated Steve Dufaud to call Steve Lebel regarding having a substitute who attends om behalf of the member for the majority of the meeting hold the duties and rights of the primary member including but not limited to running and serving on the board of directors. Steve to find out from Steve Lebel if a proxy form would work, if not what would need to be done.

Our next meeting will be on July 21, 2026.

Membership: Terry Williams attended the board meeting to let us know that he is retiring. His last meeting will be June 9th. He has an idea of a replacement from Chicago Title and will ascertain his interest and bring him to a meeting before he leaves.

Candy Harman of The Harman Media and Marketing Group (THM2G) submitted her application and was interviewed by the board. After discussion a motion was made by Jason Leimkuhl to approve her membership. This was seconded by Bob Cook and approved by all voting members present. Jessica Duru to call her to inform her of the board’s decision.

Daniel Royal of DMR Solutions Limited submitted his application and was interviewed by the board. After discussion a motion was made by Bob Goss to approve him as a member. This was seconded by Tom Stewart and approved by all voting members present. Karen to let Nick West (sponsoring member) notify Daniel of the board’s decision.

Andrew DeJoy of Specialty Appliance Inc. submitted his application and was interviewed by the board. After discussion a motion was made by Rick Ward to approve him as a member.
