About Me
Maxwell Taylor Weiss was born and raised in McLean, Virginia with his brother and sister, Collin and Jody, by his parents, Jack and Robyn. He graduated from Colby College in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree, majoring in International Studies and minoring in Business Administration. While at Colby, he was the captain of the lacrosse team and received the Norman White Award for inspirational leadership across the entire college as well as the Ewell, Steinberg, and Goodhope Lacrosse Award. After Graduating, SFC Weiss enlisted in the US Army in October 2010 and attended the Special Forces Qualification Course (SFQC) from 2011-2013 during which time he received training and qualified as a Special Forces Medical Sergeant. Upon finishing SFQC, SFC Weiss was assigned to 1st Battalion 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) located in Stuttgart, Germany where he served on Operational Detachment Alpha (ODA) 0126. He deployed to countries throughout Eastern Europe including Poland, Finland, Bulgaria, and Bosnia and Herzegovina in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve as well as other missions. While stationed in Germany he met his future wife, Carolin. In 2017, SFC Weiss was reassigned to 2nd Battalion 10th SFG(A) in Colorado where he served on ODA 0221. While on ODA 0221, he deployed to Afghanistan as well as partnered with the Defense Threat Reduction Agency in order to improve the security of various US government agencies. In 2019, SFC Weiss was chosen to instruct at the Special Operations Advanced Mountaineering School which serves as the mountaineering proponent for all Special Operations Command. In 2021 he transitioned from active duty to 19th SFG(A) in the Utah National Guard. SFC Weiss’ military education and training includes Airborne School; Special Operations Combat Medic Course; Special Forces Medical Sergeant Course; Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SERE) Level C; Allied Officers Winter Warfare Course; Swedish Basic Winter Course; Russian Language Course at the Partner Language Training Center Europe; Advanced Special Operations Techniques Level 2; Special Forces Advanced Urban Combat Course; Special Forces Advanced Reconnaissance, Target Analysis, and Exploitation Techniques Course; Lone Operator Course; Special Operations Forces Medical Skills Sustainment Course; Senior Leader Course; Senior Mountaineer Course; Common Faculty Development Instructor Course; and the Mountain Leader Course. SFC Weiss’ awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (3rd award), Army Good Conduct Medal (3rd award), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terror Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (3rd award), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (4th award), NATO Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Special Forces Tab, Parachutist Badge, and the Expert Marksmanship Badge with Carbine. Currently, SFC Weiss is the founder and CEO of EasyBnB, a vacation rental property management company that serves Colorado and several other states nationwide. EasyBnB provides full-service management to over 70 properties, serving military, investor, and civilian clients. He started the company with his own small investment, recouped his investment in the first several month of launching the company and has seen only profitable years since. EasyBnB has seen exponential growth over the past 6 months. Additionally, SFC Weiss and his wife, Carolin Weiss, control The Weiss Group, a real estate investment firm in Colorado Springs. SFC Weiss founded the Special Forces Transitions Organization in 2022 which aids retiring or separating Special Forces soldiers navigate the civilian job market through networking events. SFC Weiss and Carolin live in Colorado Springs, CO with their dog, Ajax, and 10 month old son, Logan.'
